Melina, a Douyin influencer with 52,000 followers from Guangdong, has had her persona completely shattered. Her bio, which describes her as "using things without being used by them," features mostly indoor voiceovers and gestures. Recently, her profile suddenly became private, requiring users to follow her to view it. The incident was sparked by another woman, Xiao Chu Buchu, who posted numerous chat logs and photos of them together in a group chat. Xiao Chu accused Melina of knowingly maintaining a long-term ambiguous relationship with the man, dating him, and interfering in his relationship. This accusation caused an uproar in the local community and related circles, leading to the collapse of her innocent image.

Trees in Urumqi framed together become key evidence

The most glaring piece of core evidence is the smiling tree in Urumqi. On August 6, 2026, the male, Ruida, posted a photo of the smiling tree at the night market. On August 9, Melina also posted a photo of the same tree. The two had already met in early December 2025, and had even eaten together and met the male's family. They established their relationship around January 9, 2026. On January 19, Melina was still chatting with the female, saying that the two hadn't talked much and had met less than ten times in total. "It's okay, I know what's going on." These time points and details of being in the same frame were repeatedly brought up for comparison.

The man repeatedly apologized, but her responses were contradictory.

In the chat logs, the man repeatedly said, "I was really wrong, but I absolutely didn't admit it." The woman demanded that he admit to being a third party. Melina, however, insisted in another conversation that she and he were just friends who had known each other for a long time, that she didn't know he was in a relationship, and that she did not interfere or act as a third party. She officially responded on the Douyin complaint details page, stating that she and the man were just ordinary old friends, that she was completely unaware of his relationship during the time they were dating, and that there was no interference or ambiguity. She claimed that the videos related to the ambiguous relationship were malicious and negative portrayals that had seriously damaged her reputation. The page showed that she still had two more opportunities to make a statement.

The two sides have completely contradictory statements, fueling public opinion.

Currently, both sides hold opposing positions. The woman and others in the group believe that Melina. knowingly interfered despite having a girlfriend. Melina. insists that she was completely unaware and that they were just ordinary old friends. The screenshots of her meeting with the man in Urumqi and her apologies for the multiple meetings have become the biggest focus. The account with 52,000 followers has fallen from its persona of a comedic figure to this point, becoming one of the most intense confrontations in the recent Douyin relationship circle.
